Nissan Australia Web Sites managed by Alfresco WCM
Nissan understand the importance of their web presence for selling cars in Australia. Nissans strategy is to use their public, intranet and extranet websites to drive sales and provide better service to their existing customers. Key project goals achieved were a massive reduction in the costs of managing Nissans web presence and a redesign of www.nissan .com.au to ensure a highly dynamic and interactive web 2.0 experience.
Following an initial ECM evaluation, Seed were engaged to help Nissan achieve these goals. "Seed were selected due to their business awareness of how to implement an Enterprise Content Management system and their technical expertise in Alfresco." (Steve Hogan, IT Manager Nissan Australia, New Zealand).
As an initial discovery phase for Nissan Seed undertook a successful Proof of Concept using Alfresco WCM. This was followed by development of an Alfresco managed website for Nissan Financial Services and Nissan Australia ( www.nissan.com.au).
Key aspects of the implemented solution are:
- Page authors have a tool kit for web site creation. Pages can be assembled using groupings of components such as videos and photo galleries.
- Management of a dynamic flash based website.
- Use of webscripts to create mashups using data from Nissans backend data systems
- Custom Advanced Workflow based on Nissans business rules using jBPM.
Australian Red Cross Blood Service Intranet
Seed have been engaged by ARCBS to help them redesign their corporate intranet, Connect 2.0. The overall goal of the project is to ensure that the intranet will become a one-stop information hub for all ARCBS members. A secondary goal is to ensure that the new intranet will include up to date news and information and therefore can be easily managed by an Enterprise Content Management system.
Seed worked with the ARCBS ECM team to determine the design principles that will be included on the new website. Mock-up pages of the new website were created and used to carry out usability testing and analysis on the proposed page layouts. A usability report was generated and the website mock-ups altered to reflect the findings. This approach has ensured that Connect 2.0 will become a one-stop information hub for all members of ARCBS. The implementation phase has had Seed involved in further design and development of the site pages.
